Tour America's largest private home
Biltmore, America’s largest private home, is one of North Carolina’s most popular attractions and an awe-inspiring wonder of architecture and beauty. But there’s more for visitors than just an estate. Biltmore is a National Historic Landmark in Asheville where visitors can explore George Vanderbilt’s extraordinary summer home, beautiful gardens, a luxury inn and the Antler Hill Village & Winery, all nestled on 8,000 acres in the North Carolina mountains. Biltmore House, a 250-room French-inspired chateau, was completed in 1895 with 250 rooms, 34 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces. The massive property first opened to visitors in 1930 and is still a family-owned company as a working estate. Biltmore does not receive any government funding or grants, making it one of the United States’ most significant National Historic Landmarks that is preserved solely through private funding. Biltmore offers a host of year-round special events and is well known for its annual holiday celebrations.
